Join us for the Queer History Mixtape, a 90-minute concert-conversation of queer voices, stories, and history! The singers of 8TPS present popular music from the last 150 years in dialogue with historical context from queer social movements and tributes to queer icons, past and present.

The Queer History Mixtape covers a variety of musicians and time periods. Selections from blues, jazz, rock, and pop trace the development of queer musical and social movements through artists like Ma Rainey, Chavela Vargas, and Sam Smith. Hear the music of queer trailblazers and learn about connections to censorship, sexual freedom, and the enduring fight for queer rights!

The Queer History Mixtape: A Concert-Conversation is organized by 8TPS as a part of the 2026 Circa: Queer Histories Festival, presented by One Institute.

  Pieter is a home for all people to dance, create, and heal together with the belief that embodiment liberates.
